A PUBLIC meeting over the future of one of Swindon's oldest hotels will be staged on Saturday.

Developers want a pub on the ground floor of the Goddard Arms Hotel in Old Town, an 18-bedroom hotel above and new homes at the rear.

The developer is holding a public exhibition of its proposals.

Peter Lawson, a planning consultant working for developers Barracuda Bars, said: "The exhibition is the public's last chance to influence the form and content of the residential development part of the overall proposal before applications for planning permission and listed building consent are submitted early next month.

The exhibition takes place at the Kings Arms Hotel from 10am to 4pm.
