THE hauntings of Swindon will be spelled out in a new book - thanks to Lottery cash.
Swindon educational charity Paranormal Site Investigators has been given Lottery cash to pay for 5,000 heritage and tourism booklets, all about Swindon's hauntings, and 1,000 other booklets to be used while conducting Haunted Heritage walks in Old Town and Highworth.
Spokesman Dave Wood said: "It's great that Swindon's haunted heritage has received this boost.
"We hope this will encourage people from inside and outside of the town to celebrate Swindon's history.
"The guides will place some emphasis on Swindon's free to visit sites, our heritage and cultural buildings and also on places to eat, drink and stay overnight."
Anyone interested in the project can ring 0845 6521529 or visit the website at www.hauntedswindon.com.
The month of Swindon’s wartime commemoration ends with the Rodbourne Community History Group’s exhibition, Rodbournites To Arms.
Diesel shunters first appeared at Swindon works in the early 1930s.
