New development offers modern accommodation
A NEW housing development, utilising state of the art building techniques, has been showcased.
Blenheim Place is a small development from Antler Homes comprising just four family houses, backing on to Coate Water.
Families and local dignitaries flocked to view the show house, off Marlborough Road, which had the finishing touches applied only hours before the opening.
The houses, which are available from £795,000, were officially opened by incoming mayor Coun Steve Wakefield.
He said: "I am very pleased to open the development and I've been very impressed looking around the show house.
"I'm especially interested because Swindon workers were involved in this, and it showcases the skills we have in Swindon."
Coun Mike Bawden (Old Town and Lawn) was given a guided tour of the luxury five-bedroomed show house.
He said: "I would like to congratulate the builders on their choice of design and the materials they have used in the construction."
Robert Skerton of Henry George Estate Agents said: "This is a prime location, so close to Old Town but with the M4 only a short distance away.
"We've had a tremendous response already. People were queuing up waiting for the doors to open."

"Where do you live?"
[italic]"Blenheim Place"[/italic]
"Blenheim Palace??"
[italic]"No no, just Place"[/italic]
I'm sure they're lovely houses but what complete cheesemonger came up with that street name??? Adds tacky to what should exude nothing but quality

"State of the art building techniques" ... That's pretty vague. Makes this a bit of a non-article really.

Certainly close to the M4 but you cannot access it from there!

Their development in Wanborough has just had big price cuts made(£485k for a 4 bedroom house when you could buy the same thing round the corner for £325k was having a laugh). Anyone who buys these is likely to get burned bigtime, unless they're in it for the long haul.

[quote]from £795,000[/quote]
You would need the accommodation and expense accounts of a MP to afford one of those.

Hilariously overpriced.
A look on Rightmove reveals that you can pick up a massive house with large grounds on Bath or Westlecot Road for 1/2 - 2/3 the cost of these.

What an absolute pleasure to see something other than bargain basement flats being built in Swindon.
I can't see too many people with £800k to spend deliberately choosing to live here though.

Nice, loads of druggies like to hang round coate - so remote. Some do a bit of fishing there so they can deal in their little tents.
