Several flood alerts have been issued in the Swindon and Wiltshire area by the Environment Agency.
This comes after The Met Office confirmed a yellow weather warning was in place for most of the south because of heavy rainfall expected throughout Thursday and into Friday morning.
Forecasters warned that delays to roads and public transport were likely, and that some homes and businesses could experience flooding.
An 'act now' flood warning has been issued just outside Wiltshire - in Lambourn and Great Shefford.
Covering the River Lambourn, it warns there are high river levels and groundwater levels.
Meanwhile, there are flood alerts around Swindon, including:
- The River Churn Tributaries on the Upper River Thames above Cricklade near South Cerney
- River Thames and its small tributaries from Calcutt to Lechlade
- Groundwater in the Upper Og valley near Marlborough
- Tributaries on the Upper River Thames above Cricklade
In Wiltshire, there are also flood alerts, including:
- Upper Bristol Avon area, which covers Royal Wootton Bassett, Malmesbury, Chippenham and Calne
- Mid Bristol Avon area, which covers Melksham, Bradford on Avon and Market Lavington
- River Biss catchment, which covers Trowbridge and Westbury
- River Wylye and tributaries, which covers Warminster, Wylye, Winterbourne Stoke, Shrewton and Wilton
- Upper Avon and tributaries, which covers Pewsey, Bulford, Amesbury and parts of Salisbury
- River Bourne and tributaries, which covers Tidworth
